First off, let me wish you all a belated Happy New Year!
Now, with the New Year comes a few things for me.
WEIGHT GAIN!
I weighed myself on the office scale on Monday, just before the company-provided NYE lunch, and checked in at just over 131 lbs (the scale has decimal digits to the tenths). I then proceeded to eat a full Zip Pac.
Dinner that night was chicken sausage and onions sauteed in bacon fat and tater tots. New Year's Day started without breakfast (I was busy cleaning in the kitchen) and a lunch of crab salad sandwich, chow mein, (both courtesy of my mother-in-law) and leftover sausage and onions on the side. The family gathered at my wife's grandma's house for dinner, where I over-indulged on poke, sushi, potato salad, lumpia, BBQ chicken, seafood chowder, and turkey (with gravy, of course). And rice. And banana cream pie.
I checked my weight this morning to find that I was now at 140.5 lbs. How did I gain 9 lbs in a day and a half?! I guess it's time to get those Friday afternoon workouts going again. And I should probably start taking the dog running again, too.
A BRAND NEW 365 PHOTO CHALLENGE!
I probably should have done this one when I decided to try my hand at a 365 photo challenge in 2012, but for 2013, my challenge will be: The Self-Portrait (<--- clicky click for the G+ photo album).
I can hear you asking, "What kind of challenge is that?" And I answer, "Not much of one at all!" What I will be doing this year during this 365pc is attempting to take "interesting" (or at the very least, different) backgrounds with my self-portraits. Which gets us to today (and the picture at the top).
NEW TIRES!!!
Not actually that exciting. In fact, I had to get new tires last year (and apparently didn't think it was exciting or interesting enough to blog about). My vehicle's safety check and registration both expire in January, so it's time to make sure the car is in proper working order. Last year, I was told that I needed to replace my two front tires to pass safety check, which I ended up doing at Costco (after checking around a bit). This year, I'm getting a head start and replacing the two tires that didn't get replaced last year BEFORE taking the car in for a safety check.
That's what I call that progress.
Anyway, with that in mind, I took my car over to Costco this morning (a short walk from my office, which is great for days when I forget to bring in leftovers for lunch) and went into their Tire Center, where there were already 4 people in line ahead of me. By the time I left - almost an hour later - to put the number 10 (I got there just after 10am, when they open, so how early did numbers 1 through 5 get there?) on the roof of my car, there were about 6-8 people behind me. Guess it's a good thing I wasn't that guy.

The comic strip made me so laugh hard. Haha! Anyway, good job on going ahead with the safety check and getting your two other tires replaced. That is called being prepared ahead of time, and I'm sure it would pay off whenever you get a security check again on your car. Good day and thanks for sharing your story! :)

Thanks Rita. You know, I've been so busy just micro-blogging on G+ that I haven't thought of doing a "proper" blog post in so long.
DeleteMaybe it's high time I get one written up.
